Egis undertakes HUF 7.6 bln capacity expansion

French-owned Hungarian pharmaceutical company Egis Gyógszergyár will invest HUF 7.6 billion to boost production and packaging capacity at its base in Körmend, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Friday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Egis will also set up analytical and microbiology laboratories at the base, Szijjártó said.

The state is supporting the investment with a HUF 1.2 bln grant, he added.

The output of Hungary's pharmaceutical sector exceeded HUF 1 trillion last year.
