EU Affairs Ministry, AmCham Sign Strategic Partnership Deal

The European Union Affairs Ministry and the American Chamber of Commerce in Hungary have signed a strategic partnership agreement, EU Affairs Minister János Bóka said in a post on Facebook on Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
The agreement aims to support the drafting of rules in the ministry's scope of power, the product of direct consultations, that are effective, reflect real-life conditions, are of the highest quality possible and serve the public benefit, Bóka said.
Hungary has been tasked with drafting a new European competitiveness pact when it takes the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of the year, he noted. A competitive Europe requires the contribution of the business sector, he added.
He said a discussion during the Hungarian presidency would weigh the need for a European industrial policy and address ways to implement the green transition without dismantling Europe's industry.
Reducing the administrative burden posed by EU regulations, detailed impact studies regarding rules, and meaningful consultations with economic players are important for strengthening European competitiveness, he added.
