Széchenyi István University of Győr and Hungaroring Sport signed a cooperation agreement on Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Under the agreement, the school and the operator of Hungary's Formula 1 circuit will partner on the establishment of the Motorsport Innovation and Development Science Park (Minds Park) at the race track in Mogyoród, on the outskirts of the capital.

The cooperation aims to advance automotive industry instruction and research, as well as motorsport, in Hungary.

László Palkovics, who heads the school's board of trustees, said the partnership between academia, motorsport, and the private sector could help turn Széchenyi István University into a "one-of-a-kind" knowledge center for the automotive industry in Central Europe.
