Number of Vehicles With Green Plates Climbs Over 96,000

There were over 96,000 vehicles registered in Hungary with green number plates at the end of April, the Energy Affairs Ministry said on Thursday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

There were over 96,000 vehicles registered in Hungary with green number plates at the end of April, the Energy Affairs Ministry said on Thursday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The green number plates, launched late in 2015, are for fully electric vehicles as well as plug-in, full, and range-extender hybrids, depending on the distance they can travel using batteries.

The number of fully electric vehicles stood at 55,256.

The number of vehicles with green number plates was up from 93,743 at the end of March and 71,079 a year earlier, according to data from the Interior Ministry.
