Motor Fuel Prices Fall Below Avg in Neighboring Countries

Prices at the pump in Hungary have fallen under the average in neighboring countries, weekly data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Friday show.
Gasoline prices in Hungary, at HUF 626/liter, were 0.6% under the average in neighboring countries, according to KSH's weekly price monitor. Diesel prices, at HUF 614/liter, were 1% lower than the average.
A week earlier, the price of gasoline and diesel in Hungary had stood 0.9% and 0.2%, respectively, over the average in neighboring countries.
The government had earlier said it would intervene if fuel companies didn't bring prices at the pump down to the average in Hungary's neighbors.
