Estonian Producer Prices Drop in February

Estonian producer prices dropped 3.9% year-on-year in February, slipping further from a 1.5% fall in the previous month, data from the Tallinn-based Statistics Estonia (SE) showed on Wednesday.

It was the ninth consecutive month of deflation, as prices declined sharply for electricity, gas, steam & air-conditioning supply (-31.2% vs -1.7% in January).

Meanwhile, costs declined at a softer pace for manufacturing (-2% vs -2.6%) and mining & quarrying (-1.4% vs -1.5%), while it remained unchanged for water supply (0%).

On a monthly comparison basis, producer prices fell 2.6% in February, tumbling from a 2% rise in the prior period.
