Hungarian food safety authority NÉBIH on Friday said it lifted the last restrictions in place because of earlier outbreaks of avian influenza, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The measure clears the way for the restart of exports to the European Union from the affected regions, the authority said.

NÉBIH noted that probes have not indicated the presence of bird flu for more than one month.

Exports to countries outside of the EU could start as early as the end of July, under World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) rules.
