Paks block back at nominal capacity
The number 4 block of the Paks nuclear power plant is back at nominal capacity, MVM Paksi Atomerőmű said late Tuesday, according to state news wire MTI.
The capacity of the block was cut to 50% on Monday because of a turbine malfunction.
The National Atomic Energy Office (OAH) said repairs were made to the turbine and output of the block was ramped up on Tuesday afternoon to reach 486 MW by evening.
OAH noted that the malfunction had no impact on nuclear safety or the environment.
The Paks plant's four blocks, each with a nominal capacity of 500MW, account for about half of domestic electricity generation.
