The Hungarian companies 4iG and E-Group ICT Software are among 19 businesses participating in a European Union project to support the development and deployment of next-generation cloud infrastructure and services, the Economic Development Ministry said on Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

4iG and E-Group ICT Software are being joined by big companies such as Germany's SAP, Deutsche Telekom and Siemens, France's Orange, and Spain's Telefonica on "Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services" which the European Commission has approved as an Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) under state aid rules.

4iG will bring a blockchain-based data authentication platform, dubbed Digital Trust Service, to the endeavor.

E-Group ICT Software will provide a solution for secure mass data access and processing called FedEU.ai.
