Knapp buys former MTD factory in Nemesvámos

Industrial

Colliers sold a 30,000 sqm industrial complex as part of a 9 hectare site in Nemesvámos, near Veszprém, to Austrian automation company Knapp, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

The seller MTD Hungary, a lawnmower producer, closed the factory in 2020 as they decided to centralize the production somewhere else and asked Colliers to put the property on the market for sale.

“As always, the immediate availability and attractive pricing makes this type of product suitable for companies who are looking to start up a new business or production line in Hungary. In this specific case the location, some 200 km away only from the buyer Knapp’s Headquarters in Graz in Austria, the quality of the buildings, and the pool of former MTD workers to hire were the decisive factors for Knapp to acquire the buildings and start up the new operation,” says Tamás Beck, head of industrial at Colliers Hungary.
