Eggs 1/3 Cheaper This Easter

The price of eggs is expected to be about HUF 60 apiece around the Easter holiday, one-third cheaper than a year earlier, when inflation was still in the double digits, according to an analysis by agroinform.hu.

Hungarians consume 242 eggs a year, on average, according to the latest data from the Central Statistical Office.

Domestic egg production stands at around 2.5 billion a year.

Hungarian farms supply about 80% of the domestic demand.
