The Hungarian unit of Japanese vehicle maker Suzuki has produced the 500,000th S-Cross model at its plant in Esztergom, Magyar Suzuki said on Friday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Suzuki unveiled the crossover SX4 S-Cross model 10 years earlier and started producing it in Esztergom. The name was shortened to S-Cross in 2021.

Since 2020, it has produced only hybrid versions of the model for sale in European markets.

Magyar Suzuki provides the livelihood for around 10,000 people, including the people who work at its suppliers and local brand dealerships. The company had net sales revenue of EUR 2.1 billion last year, public records show.
