MNB Gauges Interest in Operating on Hungary Crypto-assets Market

The National Bank of Hungary (MNB) will conduct a survey to determine the degree of interest among Hungarian companies in launching activities on the local crypto-assets market, the central bank and financial market regulator said on Monday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Preliminary data show a number of Hungarian companies are interested in being licensed for crypto-asset market activities in Hungary, MNB said.
MNB has been assigned oversight of the crypto-assets market under legislation approved by lawmakers earlier in April.
Data suggest around 200,000 retail investors in Hungary make active use of crypto-asset market services, the central bank said.
