Fish farmers will be able to meet the needs of domestic Christmas fish consumption, although this year's fish harvest will be lower than in previous years, the Agrármarketing Centrum (AMC) said, according to business daily Világgazdaság.

Péter Ondré, the CEO of AMC, highlighted that 40-45% of the average annual fish consumption of 6.5 kilograms per capita would take place during this period.

He recalled that an ongoing campaign aimed to increase the previous average yearly consumption of 5.4 kg per head by 20%.

Since the launch of the program in 2017, nearly five million people have been reached, and 77,000 servings of food have been served at various events, he explained.
